The flooring and stair treads are made from European beech that were all milled from single lot of trees. The flooring is quartersawn and the treads are flatsawn. The coffered ceiling of the dining area helps to provide definition in the open floor plan. The two cabinets that form part of the “railing system” are made with a combination of solid maple and maple veneered plywood. The countertop and other accents in the room are made of a rosewood. The baby gates were made from leftover flooring.
